Sr. SQL Server DBA

Seek InfoTech LLC has a need for a System DBA in Moline, IL ( about 160 miles from Chicago) for one of its clients.

We would prefer a full time or Contract to hire candidate and can also sponsor H1B visa for the right candidate.
This is a long term - 2 to 3 year assignment.
Description: This position requires expertise in current Sql Server DBMS (releases 2005 & 2008) and includes rotating 24x7 on-call problem support responsibilities.

Duties:
* Perform all regular DBA duties

* Backup databases, create and change databases, recover damaged databases from a backup, grant permissions to database objects, participate in performance/load testing of database through an application, perform SQL query tuning, database tuning and database performance analysis.

* Work on assigned requests that have come through email, iPortal, Service Center,and unassigned requests that come via team Helpline, direct phone calls, pager,walk ups, etc.

* Follow the processes, procedures and standards that have been documented by the Application DBA Services Team.

* Assist resources and teams across the enterprise in solving database issues and answering database related questions.

* Perform database change management activities and participate in daily change management meetings with other IS resources.

* Take turns on Helpline and DBA pager, providing 24x7 on-call support for Sql Server DBA functions.

* Helps team solve problems or find solutions to complex issues.

Skills and Experience:
* 5-7 years experience in Sql Server Database Administration, with experience in Sql Server 2005 and 2008 DBMS is REQUIRED.
* Flexibility in working hours to facilitate communication with remote teams.
* Strong communication skills are required (both written and oral)
* Experience coding and using SQL statements to access data.
* Experience in Sql tuning and database performance tuning.
* Experience in creation and support of SSIS packages.
* Understanding of application development and environment and database design preferred.
* Willingness to work after hours and weekends, both scheduled & on-call.
* High level of job responsiveness and attention to detail
