Database Administrator

Profile

This position requires experience with relational database management/administration. Individual will coordinate data updates, data migration, changes to databases, test and implement changes or new database designs, and apply knowledge of database management systems. Must be able to write logical and physical database descriptions, including location, space, access method, and security requirements. Must be able to provide direction to programmers and analyst as required to affect changes to database management systems. Trains users and provides answers to database questions. Skills must include the knowledge and ability to monitor a database, and to analyze and organize data. Must be able to apply new technology designs and programs. Must be familiar with Oracle database management and Oracle products. An Oracle Database Administrator Master Certificate is highly desired.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Analyzes and researches software requirements
Designs/codes applications following specifications under direction from senior staff members
Maintains and modifies existing applications
Performs maintenance programming
Performs custom programming
Assumes responsibility for ongoing architecture for product
Performs software and system testing procedures; debugging; verification; release testing and beta support
Performs product design and programming activities involving multiple modules or subsystems
Prepares documentation required of product
Participate in the development of standards and best practices
Assist Technical Managers with implementing and maintaining Best Practices within the project development effort
Responsible for the technical project plan, technical specifications and implementation plan.
Analyzes and researches software requirements
Job Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree
5-7 Years Experience
Works closely with Technical Manager to ensure project milestones are met
Able to accurately convey design and requirements to staff
Able to adapt to change
Able to set priorities
Ensures that quality is #1 in solutions being supported
Interfaces well with Professional Service staff and other technical members
Demonstrates aptitude for learning new technologies
Knowledge relating to the area in which analysis and coding is performed
