POSITION SUMMARY SQL Server Database Administrator with BI\/Data Warehouse experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - (KEY ACTIVITIES) Work closely with the developer, operations and infrastructure teams to design and optimize all database environments Perform core database administration activities including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, security and backup and recovery Provide database support 24\/7\/365 for production environments (based on rotating schedule) Define, recommend, and develop database standards, procedures and architecture Stay current on SQL technology through self-study and other training opportunities Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and\/or work-related experience 2 years of IT related experience within an information systems operations environment 2 years of experience working as Database Administrator 2 years of Microsoft SQL Server database experience Experience performance tuning and query optimization using extended events, profiler and other troubleshooting tools Experience working with stored procedures, functions, triggers and T-SQL Ability to work after business hours including standard maintenance windows PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Proven ability to coordinate team members toward task completion Experience with SSRS, SSIS and SSAS Experience with transactional replication, clustering and AlwaysOn Excellent written and oral communication Experience supporting development, test, staging and production environments Experience using TFS to source control databases Strong internal motivation and passion for the IT field Strong multi-tasking, analytical, and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to end-users and non-technical staff MCITP:DBA a plus Alere eScreen is an Equal Employment Opportunity\/Affirmative Action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
