Responsibilities: This opportunity as an Application DBA will be responsible for application functional and technical requirements, application support, complex SQL design, performance and monitoring, security, capacity and overall application database design(s) supporting the Oracle platform. The position will be collaborating with the developers, architects, modelers and systems DBAs in supporting application teams on specific projects and business enhancements. The position will work with a wide range of IS partners and vendors. There will be opportunity to interact with various levels of IS Management to implement new projects and further enhance and support the capabilities. Expert knowledge and comprehensive application of advanced Structured Query Language (SQL) concepts including PL-SQL, database backup, and restore methods\/techniques; expertise in database modeling (logical\/physical) and design Advanced knowledge of database administration and monitoring tools - Strong Operating System experience in both Linux and Windows and how they interact with the supporting databases for tuning and enhancements Expertise in High Data Availability concepts and methods, specifically Oracle RAC, Oracle Replication, and Oracle Data Guard Strong understanding of operating procedures, processes and policies Responsible for debugging issues with database processes and develop strategies for proactive alerting and monitoring Collaborate with Data Modelers and Developers \u2013 design, recommendations and performance enhancements Implement and maintain database design from DEV, Test and QA to include stored procedures, packages, triggers materialized views, scripts and reference data Creation of: tables, indexes, tables, DDL scripts, procedures and provide developers with tuning recommendations Collaborate with the Developers to optimize and design SQL scripts and procedures based on database design\u00a0 Monitor and benchmark application processes for optimization Participation in the design\/development and create database roles, user IDs, application IDs\u00a0 Manage database schemas, table locks, access and permissions Provide system\/technical expertise while managing application deployments and troubleshooting applications and platform issues Knowledge and expertise in PL\/SQL, JAVA, ETLs and overall Database Design and Performance Provide standards for security, audits and overall access Create all documentation guidelines and procedures and also ensure that the documentation reflects any\/all procedural changes\u00a0 Perform application health checks and provide recommendations and perform implementations\u00a0 Attend internal and external departmental meetings or as directed by management\u00a0 Engage in planning, testing and implementation of disaster recovery plans at the local and off-site disaster recovery site Engage in projects from architecture, road maps and solutions Understand application frameworks\u00a0 24x7 on-call production support Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Knowledge of computing support roles desired, including security administration, service desk, and application support. Strong background in the below Database Technologies: MSSQL 2008, 2012, Log Shipping, Mirroring, VMWare Virtualization, Replication, Ideara, Solarwinds monitoring tools and ITSM\/ITIL.
