RFP Consultant / Database Specialist','1800548','!*!Overview of the role: The RFP Consultant / Database Specialist plays a critical role within the Request for Proposal (RFP/RFI) process for Hartford Funds’ retail and institutional businesses. The role is primarily responsible for ensuring that external consultant databases are maintained and updated in a timely, thorough and accurate manner. Additionally, the role is responsible for assisting with completion of RFPs when needed.
Responsibilities of the role: • Responsible for the continuous improvement, accuracy and relevancy of all information contained in external databases (e.g. eVestment, Mercer, etc.) • Establishes and maintains a schedule for conducting routine reviews of database content • Reviews, updates and maintains internal database of RFP responses within Qvidian; ensures accuracy of all information • Updates consultant databases with accurate information from Qvidian and other sources • Works within the company’s RFP process to prepare and respond to RFP requests; drafts responses that are thorough, accurate and highlight Hartford Funds’ products for competitive advantage and maximum impact • Facilitates productive internal communication to ensure timeliness and compliance of RFP submissions • Manages the RFP Process through completion • Translates RFP requirements, identifies key stakeholders, and sets priorities and deadlines • Responsible for the continuous improvement, accuracy and relevancy of all information contained in the RFP • Builds relationships and proactively interacts with firm-wide stakeholders, such as Distribution Team, Product Team and Subject Matter Experts to say abreast of current information related to the firm, its strategy and initiatives for the future • Works with investment teams to develop strong industry and product knowledge • Assume other responsibilities as required ','!*!• Bachelor’s Degree required • 1-3 years of related experience in the mutual fund business preferred • Knowledge of Qvidian preferred • Knowledge of Consultant Databases (e.g. eVestment, Mercer, etc.) preferred • Solid organizational skills with strong attention to detail • Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to address technical investment-oriented detail in a clear, concise and compelling manner • Critical thinking, quantitative skills and the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents such as investment performance and portfolio characteristics • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both external and internal business partners. • Participate in cross-functional project team environment • Ability to learn quickly and work independently, but also to contribute as part of a team. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint including familiarity with pivot tables • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Effectively manage shifting/changing priorities.
