Database Administrator This role will encompass the maintenance of our existing database infrastructure and include backup/disaster recovery management. This is a full-time opportunity (No Sponsorship). In addition, there may also be potential for remote-work. Responsibilities: Maintain existing database infrastructure including backup and disaster recovery Identify system enhancement and automation opportunities for installing/maintaining database technologies, building, deploying and monitoring applications as well as alerting and remediating system outages Provide installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting support for database application software both on premises and in the Cloud Work closely with other infrastructure teams to deliver new database environments and resolve problems related to existing infrastructure Collaborate closely with software development teams and work towards common goals Support for the adoption of DevOps methodology and Agile project software development practices Diagram and document database Cloud implementations. Provide mentoring, knowledge transfer and assist in training for other members of the database team Contribute to Cloud strategy decisions on overall technology architecture Requirements (Must Haves): 5 years of database administration 3 years of Linux server experience 2 years Amazon AWS Cloud databases Desired Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in related field Intermediate scripting experience (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.) Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills Ability to work in team environment and think creatively Deep understanding of cloud database methodologies Ability to communicate complex technical processes to peers Deep understanding of MySQL including master/slave replication Strong knowledge in SQL and Application performance tuning
