CACI is looking for an experienced System Administrator to support our development and test efforts in Charlottesville VA. Development efforts center around a web-based Oracle DB application that is currently deployed at multiple sites around the world. The System Administrator will be a member of an experienced team within a fast-paced and agile environment. This position requires technical depth to maintain the existing compute infrastructure, troubleshoot complex issues and remove bottlenecks to ensure the development and test environment is optimized to support the team’s efforts to meet delivery commitments. This position will require the mentoring of less experienced system administrators on the team. Further, this position will require the candidate to be part of a bench of employees who can be called upon to deploy OCONUS (to include hazardous duty and austere condition locations) in order to support instances of the application at sites around the world.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, configure, manage and maintain all Windows/Linux servers, both physical and virtualized
Manage Windows Domain Controllers.
Create, manage and maintain security groups.
Monitor, manage and maintain storage systems and devices.
Ensure all data is being backed up on a daily basis. Ensure data and media recoverability though system backups and database archive operations.
Create and maintain system administration processes and procedures.
Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems have the appropriate patches installed; to include STIG, security, applications and OS.
Create, manage and maintain user accounts.
Create, deploy, and maintain Windows/Linux server images.
Recommend system enhancements
Ensure all appropriate inventory/asset management functions are completed as required.
Utilize network skills and security expertise
Support other teams as needed
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Review performance logs and monitors system performance.
Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance
Troubleshoot and resolves system hardware, software and communications problems, to include replacing hardware components as necessary.
Ensure integrity of servers through evaluation, implementation, and management of appropriate software and hardware solutions.
Conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines.
Performs regular file archival and purge, as necessary.
Supports maintenance activities in the evening and weekend, and provides on-call support as needed.
Administration of project application when deployed.
Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 5-7 years of related experience.
Active DOD TS/SCI (Requires the successful completion of a CI Polygraph)
DoD 8570 (IAT II) Compliant (e.g. Security )
Experience designing and deploying installations of Windows Server 2008/2012 and Windows 7/10
Experience designing and deploying enterprise virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare vSphere, Hyper-V)
Experience with configuration of direct attached and storage area network units
Experience with information system security best practices and STIGs
Practical working knowledge of networking (including DNS/WINS/DHCP)
Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows 2008R2, Windows 2012R2, and Linux operating systems
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting databases, such as Oracle 11g and Oracle 12c.
Experience with Public Key Infrastructure
Experience in an environment requiring good customer service skills
Experienced in Shell scripting, SQL, XML, and programming languages such as Java
Experience with Amazon Web Services
Experience with PowerShell, Puppet or Chef and Vagrant a plus
Experience with Oracle databases
