Database Administrator - Tier 2

The Database Administrator (DBA) is a member of Tier 2 and, as such, functions as a point of escalation for NISP’s Tier 1 Help Desk. The DBA is primarily responsible for configuration, maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of NISP databases which include Oracle and MS SQL. Duties include:
Coordinate physical and logical changes to application databases
Provide logical and physical databases designs
Review of database changes for impact on physical database, NISP systems and applications
Establish physical and logical database parameters
Provide Data Strategy for how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by NISP Systems, IT Systems, and applications using or processing the data
Provide data security to include access control of NISP databases
Prepare and implement database patches and upgrades
Support NISP application development efforts, security patch testing, and installation as required for database related tasks
Develop database reports

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Prior senior DBA experience - minimum 5 years
Working knowledge of Oracle DBEE
Working knowledge of MS SQL
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of MS Project
Ability to obtain/maintain Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Experience troubleshooting hybrid DB environments in a high-availability, Siebel-based platform
Experience supporting a Service Desk delivery team
General understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
Working knowledge of Remedy ticketing system
ITIL Foundation certification (preferred)
