As a Senior Database Administrator
you will be a significant contributor to our Data Tier Team in the production deployment, event management and application support of the database tier, while participating in architecture, design, deployment, testing and reporting on new functionality, patching and application service upgrades.
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Expert experience Oracle11/12 Production Administration and preferred with experience with Oracle Database Appliance (ODAs)
Experience with SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/16, MySQL, and Postgres a plus
Experience with database management, including backups, restores, log shipping and advanced recovery options
Experience in designing, implementing, and managing DR targets, workflow, and failover
Experience in migrating/upgrading Oracle versions and maintaining compliant patch levels
Working knowledge in troubleshooting database Incidents on associated server platform issues on Windows 2008/2012 and Linux in an enterprise environment.
Experience with Hosted, Cloud and Hybrid, Development environments including N-Tier architecture
Experience with AWS and Azure cloud environments a plus
Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities, demonstrated knowledge of change management, and experience implementing new process/technology to standardize operations
Preferred experience architecting back office database systems (i.e. Payroll, Human Resources, General Ledger, Hiring/Employee Processing, Inventory & Purchasing, Vendor Payments and Time & Attendance)
Knowledge with mobile, integration and ESB/middleware solutions
Experience in the use of scripting such as, PL/SQL, T-SQL, Bash and PowerShell
Excellent analytical, technical and diagnostic skills, ability to lead incident management efforts, troubleshooting efforts and RCAs
Possess good project management skills including project planning, scoping and task execution
ITIL based processes and best practices
Knowledge of development agile framework, dev/ops and version control
Maintain Production and Preproduction databases running on Oracle 11/12, Postgres, SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/2016, and MySQL
Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for database and environment technologies, advising the Development team on identified Production defects on database, scheduling and interfaces
Participate and contribute to application database Release Management change and maintenance in Preproduction and Production environments.
Support databases for mobile, middleware and client server solutions
Partner with DevOps peers and leadership to provide project deliverables, cross-training, documentation, coordination and support of Preproduction and Production environments
Lead regular database maintenance patching, upgrades and updates to Business databases in Preproduction and Production environments to ensure consistent support is maintained
Execute Compliance tasks in support of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit, legal and discovery requests within requested SLAs, communicating to the appropriate supervisor, department or entity
Identify, create and implement new process improvement opportunities, standards and SOPs to improve the overall productivity and effectiveness of the team
Attend and participate in SWAT and Problem Management meetings for Major Incidents and IT Service interruptions
Respond to Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical requests, incidents and change questions, escalating to Tier 3 development and 3
party support organizations in a timely manner
Participate in on-call activities and shift duties
