A person who wants to become a system administrator will probably require a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. He will also need at least two years of experience with computer systems, before being promoted to a position of system administrator. Has worked as a systems technician learning the basics of how systems work in practice as well as in theory.

A system administrator needs a fairly extensive knowledge of various computer operations to be effective. He must understand how to mainframe server and know how to keep the computer system; install software and patches, troubleshoot; maintain data files; control the system and perform system backup and recovery. In short, the system administrator must know how to do almost everything the system needs for maintenance.

The job description of a system administrator, says that some 'creativity is needed, but this is not necessarily the case. Often, the job requires a lot of creative thinking in order to solve a problem quickly.
If a problem on systems of crops, there may be more than a ''fix,'' and is the work of system administrators to determine what will be the most effective solution. He may also be instructed to update the system and decide which software is the most effective way for the work he does. This will be very different from system to system, depending on the needs and functions of each. An accounting department has completely different sales requirements, for example, and it is up to the system administrator to adjust the computer to meet the needs that must be filled.

Systems Administrator is also one of a diplomat, especially with a smaller company. In smaller companies, he usually works one-on-one using computers and can find himself in the position supervisor or trainer, as well as the repairman. In this case, he can deal with employees who has little computer experience and understanding, and it is to teach them how to use the equipment without violating them. It is possible that he is one of the workers to shout, when their machines are buggy, so patience is another important virtue for a system administrator.

For most businesses, administrators ask for the salary. It specializes in the field, and the candidate is usually a good reason to pay whatever he asks. The wise leader will realize his company cannot be productive without the system administrator and will find the best one available.
